Happy New Year of Horse! As always, I am publishing a free amigurumi pattern of that year! 2026 is the year of horse! I made a sitting version of the horse. You can play with the color or even add an unicorn for them.

The whole pattern takes around 3-4 hours to make. You need to know how to read a US pattern. I only used magic ring, single crochet, invisible single crochet decrease and color change.

I used DK yarn and 2.20mm crochet hook for the entire pattern. The finished size is 12 cm tall, 9 cm wide and 8 cm deep.

I used jointed-end method which mean you start with chain to build a new round, and end with slip stitch to starting stitch.

Start with white yarn.

Round 4-5: sc 16, change to brown yarn.
Round 6-13: sc 16, FO with a long thread for sewing.

Sew the ear first, then hands and legs.

Lastly, add the hair. I add the hair by making a loop with the yarn, and tie a knot.

You can brush the hair part to make it more natural.

For the tail part, I did the same and tie the thread into a braid.
